Description
A Winchester Model 1894 lever-action rifle, chambered in .30 W.C.F., manufactured by the Winchester Repeating Arms Co. of New Haven, Connecticut, U.S.A. The rifle features a dark reddish-brown wooden stock and forend, a blued steel barrel, and a receiver exhibiting a worn browned or case-hardened finish. Markings on the barrel include “MANUFACTURED BY THE WINCHESTER REPEATING ARMS CO. NEW HAVEN, CONN. U.S.A.”, “NICKEL STEEL BARREL”, and “ESPECIALLY FOR SMOKELESS POWDER”, alongside the caliber “30 W.C.F.”. The upper tang is marked “MODEL 1894”, “WINCHESTER”, and “PAT AUG. 21 1894”. The serial number “155943” is present on the underside of the receiver, dating the rifle to approximately 1900-1901.
Condition report:
Good overall condition. The rifle exhibits typical handling wear, finish loss, and minor surface abrasions consistent with its age and use. The bluing on the barrel shows thinning, and the receiver\'s original browned or case-hardened finish is significantly worn, presenting a patinated appearance. The wooden stock and forend show various small dents, scratches, and areas of finish loss but no major cracks or repairs are immediately apparent. No major damage is observed.
