Description
A Winchester Model 94 lever-action repeating rifle, dated 1923, featuring a 20″ barrel. Constructed from blued steel and dark-grained hardwood for the stock and forend. Visible markings on the barrel and receiver include “MANUFACTURED BY THE WINCHESTER REPEATING ARMS CO., NEW HAVEN, CONN. U. S. A. PATENTED AUGUST 21. 1894.”, “NICKEL STEEL BARREL”, “ESPECIALLY FOR SMOKELESS POWDER”, and the caliber “-30 W.C.F.” (30 Winchester Center Fire). Additional markings read “MODEL 94”, “WINCHESTER”, and “TRADE MARK REG. U.S. PAT. OFF. & FGN.” (Foreign), with a serial number “920874” stamped on the underside of the receiver. The buttstock has some small cracks around the wrist.
Condition report:
The rifle exhibits significant wear consistent with age and use. There is extensive loss of bluing, with a mottled patina and minor pitting visible on the metal components. The wooden furniture shows numerous scratches and dents. The buttstock has some small cracks around the wrist. The rifle appears structurally sound.
