A Le Gaulois Palm-Squeezer Pistol, No. 1, by Manufacture Française d’Armes & Cycles de Saint-Étienne, dating from the late 19th or early 20th century. The pistol features a minimalist design, primarily constructed of dark metal with a simple wooden grip. Visible markings on the pistol include “S” and “D” indicators, a serial number “17523” on the barrel and top slide, and a circular stamp detailing the manufacturer “Manufacture Française d’Armes & Cycles de Saint-Étienne”, caliber “6m/m”, and “BREVETÉ S. G. D. G.” (Patented without government guarantee). The pistol is presented with its accompanying reddish-brown fitted case, possibly leather-covered, which features a discolored but largely legible paper label. This label reiterates the manufacturer’s details and describes the item as a “Pistolet de Poche à Répétition Automatique” (Pocket Pistol with Automatic Repeater action), specified as “6 coups – calibre 6 m/m.” (6 shots – 6 mm caliber), also marked “BREVETÉ S.
