Description
A Browning Model 42 Grade V Pigeon pump-action shotgun, chambered for .410 bore 2 1/2″ and 3″ shells with a Full choke. The shotgun features a 26″ vent rib barrel and a polished blued metal finish on the barrel and receiver. The stock and forend are crafted from highly figured, dark reddish-brown wood, exhibiting a high-gloss finish. The receiver is extensively decorated with intricate scroll engraving and gold-inlaid game scenes, including flying ducks on one side and two hunting dogs with a flushed bird on the other. Visible markings on the barrel read “BROWNING ARMS COMPANY MORGAN, UTAH & MONTREAL P.Q. MADE IN JAPAN” and “BROWNING MODEL 42 .410BORE-2 1/2″ AND 3″ SHELLS FULL.” Serial numbers “03490” and “NZ982” are visible near the magazine tube, and the buttplate is marked “BROWNING.”
Condition report:
Excellent, unfired condition. Minimal to no visible wear to metal or wood surfaces. Action appears crisp.
