Description

A Fabrique Nationale Model 1900 semi-automatic rifle, chambered in .35 Remington. This vintage rifle is constructed from blued steel and features a checkered walnut stock and forend. The receiver is marked “FABRIQUE NATIONALE D’ARMES DE GUERRE HERSTAL BELGIQUE” and “BROWNING’S PATENT DEPOSE.” Additional markings on the bolt include “PV”, “ELG” within an oval, “Λ-R”, “51”, and a faint “17.4mm” stamp. The serial number “4291” is located on the top rear of the receiver. The rifle is fitted with a dark, ventilated rubber or hard plastic buttplate embossed with “RED HEAD BRAND”, “CHICAGO”, “PATENT PENDING”, and a duck logo, plus the number “1”. A worn leather sling is attached. This model is based on John Browning’s patent of 1900, a design later famously produced by Remington as the Model 8.

Condition report:

Good used condition. The blued steel components show typical loss of finish, surface scratches, and minor pitting consistent with age and use. The checkered walnut stock and forend exhibit surface scratches, minor dents, and wear to the checkering. The \'RED HEAD BRAND\' buttplate shows minor wear and some scuffing. The attached leather sling is worn and supple.
