Winchester Model 1906 .22 S/L/LR Slide Action Rifle
Description
A Winchester Model 1906 .22 Short, Long, or Long Rifle caliber slide-action rifle, featuring a blued steel barrel and receiver, paired with a wooden buttstock and fore-end. The barrel is marked “MADE IN U. S. A. WINCHESTER REPEATING ARMS CO. NEW HAVEN, CONN.” with multiple patent dates ranging from 1888 to 1911, and caliber as “.22 SHORT-LONG OR LONG RIFLE”. The receiver’s tang is marked “REG. IN U. S. PAT. OFF. -WINCHESTER- TRADE MARK-“. A serial number “187731” is visible on the top of the receiver and on a side plate, accompanied by a letter “B” on the top of the receiver. The buttplate bears the Winchester logo.
Condition report:
Exhibits wear consistent with its age and use. There is significant loss of bluing on metal surfaces, some minor surface corrosion and pitting, and various scratches and dings on the wooden components.
