Description
A Garate Anitua y Cia Eibar-España Tigre model lever-action repeating rifle, a Spanish copy of the Winchester 1892, featuring a 22″ barrel. This firearm is crafted from blued steel and wood, characteristic of late 19th to early 20th-century production. Visible markings on the barrel include “GARATE ANITUA Y CIA EIBAR-ESPAÑA” and “CAL. 44 L” (.44 Long). The underside of the receiver bears the serial number “A 25027”. The receiver is further marked with a stylized tiger logo, “MARCA REGISTRADA” (Registered Trademark), “TIGRE” (Tiger), and “MODELO PATENTADO” (Patented Model).
Condition report:
The rifle presents in antique, used condition with considerable age-appropriate wear. There is extensive finish loss across metal components, accompanied by scattered oxidation and pitting. The wooden stock and forend exhibit numerous nicks and scratches, consistent with prolonged use and age.
