Winchester Super Speed .348 Winchester Cardboard Box with 20 Empty Brass Cases
Description
A vintage Winchester Super Speed .348 Winchester cardboard ammunition box, designed for Winchester Model 71, containing 20 empty brass cases. The box features a bold blue, yellow, and red color scheme and displays extensive text including “U. S. A. PAT. 2009556 AND PAT. PENDING”. It identifies the manufacturer as Winchester Repeating Arms Co., New Haven, Conn., U. S. A., and originally advertised 200-grain soft point, smokeless cartridges. The included empty brass cases, however, bear “REM-UMC” (Remington-Union Metallic Cartridge) headstamps, indicating they are not original Winchester manufacture for this specific box.
Condition report:
The cardboard box is in visibly worn condition, exhibiting significant creasing, tears, abrasions, and fading consistent with age and handling. The 20 empty brass cases show varying degrees of tarnish and oxidation.
