Description
An Allen & Thurber Single-Shot Percussion Pistol, featuring a sliding hammer mechanism, constructed of darkened metal with a wooden grip. The octagonal breech section of the barrel is visibly marked “PATENTED”, “1837”, and “CAST-STEEL”. The numerals “9 5 3” are stamped on its underside. Elaborate scrollwork engraving decorates the sides of the frame. The wooden grip shows a rich, dark finish.
Condition report:
The item exhibits significant overall wear, dark patination, and scattered pitting on the metal surfaces. The wooden grip shows age-appropriate wear.
