Description
A Remington Model 30 Express bolt-action sporting rifle, featuring a 24″ Barrel, dark blued steel barrel and receiver, and a classic wooden stock with checkered panels on the forend and pistol grip. The receiver is marked “Remington” (in script) and “REG. U.S. PAT. OFF.”. The barrel is marked “MODEL 30 Express”, serial number “20619”, “SPRINGFIELD. 30 CAL. 1906” (indicating .30-06 Springfield caliber), and “REMINGTON ARMS CO., INC., REMINGTON ILION WORKS, ILION, N.Y. MADE IN U.S.A.”. A faint “REP” proof mark is also present. The rifle is fitted with an adjustable aperture rear sight with numerical range markings (e.g., 25, 50, 75, 100, 125) and a fixed front sight. Hairline at wrist.
Condition report:
Good vintage condition, showing expected signs of age and use. The wooden stock exhibits minor scuffs, dents, and a CRACKED STOCK with a hairline crack extending from the receiver into the wrist. Metal components show finish wear and light patina, particularly on the front sight base and the grooved metal buttplate.
