Vintage Winchester Super Speed .270 Win Ammunition Box with 20 Live Rounds
Description
A vintage Winchester ‘Super Speed’ .270 Winchester ammunition box, constructed from cardboard and featuring a distinct red, yellow, and blue graphic design. The box is clearly marked with ‘WINCHESTER’, ‘SUPER SPEED .270 WIN.’, ‘150 GRAIN BULLET’, ‘SOFT POINT’, ’20 CENTER FIRE SMOKELESS CARTRIDGES’, ‘STAYNLESS NON-MERCURIC’, and indicates it was ‘MADE IN UNITED STATES OF AMERICA’ for ‘WINCHESTER MODELS 54 AND 70’, with a visible code ‘K 2703 C’. It contains twenty live brass cartridges, which show some tarnish. Notably, their headstamps reveal a mix of manufacturers, including ‘W.R.A. .270 WIN’, ‘WINCHESTER SUPER SPEED .270 WIN’, and at least one ‘NORMA .270 WIN’ branded cartridge, indicating the contents may not be entirely original or uniform.
Condition report:
The cardboard box exhibits significant wear, soiling, and tearing, especially along its edges and flaps. The twenty brass cartridges show tarnish consistent with age and storage.
