Vintage Remington UMC .25 Automatic Colt Smokeless Central Fire Cartridges, 50 Rounds
Description
A vintage box of fifty .25 Automatic Colt Smokeless Central Fire Cartridges by Remington Arms-Union Metallic Cartridge Co. The rectangular cardboard box features a plaid pattern and a prominent cream-colored label with red text, specifying “Metal Cased Bullet” and displaying a circular “Remington UMC” trademark, an illustrated cartridge, and a “Colt Patent Fire-Arms Mfg. Co.” script logo with a rearing horse motif on one side panel. The labels state the smokeless powder cartridges are “specially adapted for .25 Colt, Browning, Clement and other Automatic Arms.” Inside, fifty brass-cased cartridges with dark metal bullets are neatly arranged, each bearing a “UMC” headstamp.
Condition report:
The box exhibits expected vintage wear, including discoloration, creasing, and minor tearing to the paper labels. The cartridges appear generally intact but show some tarnish consistent with age.
