100 Rounds of Vintage Winchester and Peters .22 Short Rim Fire Ammunition
Description
This lot comprises 100 rounds of vintage .22 Short Rim Fire ammunition, presented in two original cardboard boxes. The top box, appearing yellowed and faded, is marked “WINCHESTER .22 SHORT RIM FIRE LESMOK RIFLE CARTRIDGES,” “WINCHESTER MAKE,” and “MADE IN U.S.A.,” indicating a quantity of “50” and featuring a bullet diagram. This Winchester box holds 50 copper-washed .22 Short cartridges, many displaying an “H” headstamp. The bottom box, a distressed reddish-orange, is marked “PETERS .22 SHORT RIM FIRE,” with additional text partially obscured but including “PETERS CARTRIDGE Co.” and “Savage Bullets.” This Peters box contains approximately 50 heavily oxidized lead .22 Short cartridges. Both boxes contain their original cartridges.
Condition report:
The cardboard packaging exhibits significant wear, discoloration, tearing, and creasing consistent with age and storage. The Winchester box is yellowed and faded. The Peters box is a distressed reddish-orange. The cartridges show varying degrees of tarnish and corrosion, especially the lead examples in the Peters box.
