Description
A Navy Arms Henry style lever-action rifle, a commemorative replica of a 19th-century Henry rifle. This example is a ‘Minnesota State Sheriffs Association’ commemorative, marked ‘One of Five Hundred’ on the polished blued octagonal barrel. The rifle features a brass receiver, butt plate, and fore-end cap, complemented by a reddish-brown hardwood stock. Further markings on the barrel include “HENRY’S PATENT OCT. 16 1860” and “MANUFACTURED BY NAVY ARMS CO. RIDGEFIELD, N.J.”. The brass receiver is engraved with a circular “Minnesota State Sheriffs Association” emblem, an outline of the state of Minnesota with “MSSA” text, and various star and scrollwork. The serial number “MSSA.251” is stamped on the lower right side plate.
