Description
An O.F. Mossberg & Sons ‘Brownie’ .22 caliber four-barrel derringer-style pistol. The firearm is constructed primarily of steel with dark wood grip panels featuring vertical grooving. The left side of the frame is marked “O.F. MOSSBERG & SONS” and “NEW HAVEN, CONN. U.S.A.”. The model name “←Brownie→” is present on the breech block, and the right side of the frame is marked “PAT. APPD. FOR”. The serial number “1598” is discernible on an internal component when the firearm is partially open.
Condition report:
Fair to good antique condition. The metal components show significant wear, substantial loss of original bluing, and scattered areas of surface oxidation and pitting. The wooden grips exhibit handling wear consistent with age and use, with some minor nicks and abrasions.
