Description
A vintage Peters Cartridge Co. collector box of .22 WIN.R.F. Smokeless Rifle Cartridges. This rectangular cardboard box, originally designed to contain 50 rounds, features an original paper label prominently displaying ‘Peters’, ‘.22 WIN.R.F. SMOKELESS RIFLE CARTRIDGES’, ‘NON-LUBRICANT’, and identifying the manufacturer as ‘THE PETERS CARTRIDGE CO. CINCINNATI, U.S.A.’, alongside ‘TRADE MARK P REG. U.S. PAT. OFF.’ and a depiction of a cartridge. The box contains 50 rimfire cartridges, each with a ‘P’ clearly marked on its base.
Condition report:
The cardboard box is in visibly poor condition with extensive wear, tears, and discoloration to its original paper label. The interior cartridges exhibit significant tarnish, oxidation, and iridescent discoloration.
