Lot 1067:
Description
A Case XX 1836 Davy Crockett Bowie Knife WITH SHEATH. This contemporary Bowie knife features a large, polished metal clip-point blade, etched with a frontiersman figure, commonly associated with Davy Crockett. The blade is clearly marked ‘CASE XX’, ‘USA’, and ‘1836’. It is fitted with a black grip secured by three brass-colored pins, and a substantial brass-colored double-quillon guard. The knife is accompanied by its fitted black leather or synthetic scabbard, which is detailed with brass-colored accents at the tip and throat, and features a snap closure bearing the ‘CASE’ logo.
Condition report:
Good overall condition. Minor handling marks are present on the grip. Light tarnishing is visible on the brass elements of both the knife and the scabbard. The blade appears clean with the etching intact.
