Description
A vintage Remington pump-action rifle, featuring a 22″ barrel. The rifle is predominantly constructed from blued steel and features a varnished dark wood stock with a ribbed fore-end. Visible markings identify it as a “Remington” firearm, manufactured by “REMINGTON ARMS—UNION METALLIC CARTRIDGE CO. REMINGTON WORKS, ILION, NEW YORK, U.S.A.”, with patent dates of “OCT. 12, ’09, JULY 5, ’10, NOV. 19, ’12”, indicating an early 20th-century period of manufacture. The caliber is marked as “38-40 REM OR 38 W.C.F.”, and a serial number “32985” with a “C” is present on the tang. A circular medallion-like inlay on the receiver displays “REM-UMC” and “38-40 REM” around a ‘U’.
Condition report:
The rifle\'s condition is consistent with significant age and use. There is considerable loss of its original blued finish on the metal components, with surface wear throughout. The wood stock and fore-end show numerous scratches and scuffs. The rifle appears structurally intact.
