Description
A Marlin Model 1892 Safety Lever Action Rifle. Crafted from darkened wood for the buttstock and forend, paired with aged grey metal components. The rifle features an octagonal barrel with a full-length tubular magazine, an exposed hammer, and a metal crescent buttplate. Visible barrel markings include “MARLIN FIRE-ARMS CO. NEW-HAVEN, CT, U.S.A.” followed by patent dates: “PAT’D NOV. 19. 1878. APRIL 2.1889. AUG 12. 1890. MARCH 1. 1892.” The top of the receiver is marked “* MARLIN SAFETY *”, while the side displays “MODEL 1892.” A serial number, “171858”, is present on the underside of the receiver.
Condition report:
The item exhibits significant wear commensurate with age and use, including numerous scuffs and dents on the wooden furniture and a worn, patinated finish with minor surface corrosion on the metal components.
