Description
A pair of vintage Winchester .22 Long Rim Fire “Lesmok” Rifle Cartridges, comprising 100 rounds in total. Each box originally contained 50 cartridges. The cardboard packaging identifies the manufacturer as “Winchester Repeating Arms Co., New Haven, Conn., U.S.A.” and references “STETSON’S Patent Oct. 31, 1871,” indicating a late 19th or early 20th-century production. Additional visible text includes “Trade Marks Reg. U. S. Pat. Off. & Thro’t the World” and “MADE IN U.S.A.,” with large orange “W” branding on the side panels. Both boxes are open, revealing brass-cased cartridges with an “H” stamp on their rims. The bullets appear to be lead or copper-washed lead.
Condition report:
The cardboard boxes show significant age-related wear, including extensive discoloration, staining, creasing, and minor tears. The cartridges exhibit tarnish and oxidation consistent with their age, with some bullets showing a lighter, potentially oxidized, surface. Fair condition consistent with age and use.
