Description

A Marlin Model 1892 lever-action .32 caliber rifle, primarily constructed from blued steel and dark stained wood for the buttstock and forend. The barrel is marked “MARLIN FIRE-ARMS CO. NEW-HAVEN. CT. U.S.A.” and includes patent dates: “PAT’D NOV. 19. 1878. APRIL 2. 1889. AUG. 12. 1890. MARCH 1. 1892.” The top tang is marked “MODEL. 1892.” and the top of the receiver reads “MARLIN SAFETY.” A serial number, “124165”, is present on the lower tang. The rifle features an octagon barrel.

The item shows significant signs of age and use, including wear and loss of bluing on metal surfaces, as well as numerous dents, scratches, and areas of finish loss on the wooden stock and forend, suggesting overall fair to good antique condition.
