Description
A Savage Sporter bolt-action rifle, chambered in .25-20. The rifle features a dark reddish-brown wooden stock with a pistol grip and blued steel barrel and receiver. Markings on the receiver and barrel read “MANUFACTURED BY SAVAGE ARMS CORP. UTICA, N.Y. U.S.A.” and “PATENTED NOV.28,1905 SEP.7,1915 SEP.4,1917 NOV.20,1917,” indicating an early 20th-century production. The serial number “46702” is present on the receiver, along with the word “FIRE” on a safety mechanism. The detachable box magazine is marked “SAVAGE SPORTER” and “25-20 OR 32-20.” The buttplate bears an embossed Savage logo and “UTICA, N.Y. U.S.A.”

Condition report:
Good overall condition for its age. The wooden stock shows minor surface scratches and indentations consistent with use. The blued metal components exhibit some finish loss and an age-appropriate patina. Mechanically untested.
