Description
A Lyman .36 caliber black powder percussion revolver, styled as a 19th-century “Navy Model,” presented in a fitted wooden case with accessories. The revolver features a blued octagonal barrel inscribed with “.36 CAL. NAVY MODEL,” “LYMAN – MIDDLEFIELD CONN.,” and “FOR BLACK POWDER ONLY – MADE IN ITALY.” It displays serial number “18864” along with Italian proof marks “P.N.” and “XX9,” indicating a proof year of 1973. Its frame exhibits vibrant case-hardened coloration, complemented by polished silver- or nickel-plated grip straps and a finely grained wooden grip. The cylinder is engraved with a naval battle scene and partially marked “PATENT N.” Accompanying the revolver are a black powder bullet mold marked “OHAUSS 932” and “378-R,” a nipple wrench, lead balls, and brass percussion caps, all neatly arranged within the wooden case featuring brass hardware and a blue felt-lined interior.
