Description
A vintage box of Winchester 32 Automatic (7.65 M/M) ammunition, containing 50 center fire cartridges, circa 1946. The cardboard box features a distinctive red and yellow design, marked ‘WINCHESTER’ with ‘TRADE MARK’ and specifies ’32 AUTOMATIC (7.65 M/M)’ caliber. The ammunition is noted as ‘STAYNLESS,’ ‘NON-MERCURIC,’ and ‘OIL PROOF,’ with a ’71 GRAIN BULLET’ and ‘FULL METAL CASE.’ The box indicates compatibility with firearms including ‘COLT, SAVAGE, WEBLEY & SCOTT, MAUSER, CLEMENT, FABRIQUE NATIONALE’ (National Factory) and other automatic arms. Further markings include ‘MADE IN U.S.A.,’ ‘TRADE-MARKS REG. U. S. PAT. OFF. MARCA REG.’ An end flap is marked ‘W 32 AP.’ The contained cartridges appear to be in good overall condition, with visible ‘W’ and ’32 AUTO’ headstamps on some.
