Remington Model 81 Woodmaster Semi-Automatic Rifle, .300 Savage
Description
A Remington Model 81 Woodmaster semi-automatic rifle. Constructed of blued steel, featuring a polished reddish-brown wooden stock and fore-end with checkered grip panels, and a detachable box magazine. The checkered metal buttplate is marked “Remington”. The left side of the receiver bears the markings “THE WOODMASTER TRADE MARK MODEL 81”, “Remington REG. U.S. PAT. OFF. 7849” (serial number), and “SAFE” near the trigger guard. The barrel is marked “REMINGTON ARMS CO. INC., ILION, N.Y., MADE IN U.S.A. BROWNING’S PATS:” followed by a series of patent numbers. The caliber “.300 SAV” (.300 Savage) is visible on the bolt. The rifle is fitted with open sights and a front sling swivel.
Condition report:
Good overall condition with some minor surface wear, light scratches to the bluing, and handling marks on the wood finish consistent with age and use.
