Description
A Winchester Model 70 bolt-action sporting rifle, chambered in .30 Gov’t06, with a 24″ barrel. The rifle is constructed of blued steel for the barrel and receiver, and features a wooden stock with checkered panels on the forend and pistol grip. Visible markings on the barrel include “MADE IN NEW HAVEN. CONN. U.S. OF AMERICA”, “WINCHESTER”, “MODEL 70”, “.30 GOV’T06”, “WINCHESTER PROOF STEEL”, and “TRADE MARK”. The receiver is marked “WINCHESTER” on its top surface, “FIRE” on the safety selector, and bears the serial number “43080”. It is equipped with a hooded front sight, an adjustable rear sight, a metal trigger guard, a checkered metal buttplate, and sling swivels.
