Description
An E. Whitney 1861 .36 Percussion Revolver. This firearm features a blued steel octagonal barrel and cylinder, a case-hardened steel frame, and a brass trigger guard and grip strap. It is fitted with burled wooden grips. The top of the barrel is visibly marked “E. WHITNEY” and “N HAVEN”, indicating its manufacturer and origin in New Haven.
Condition report:
Overall good condition for an antique firearm. Exhibits age-appropriate wear, including thinning of the bluing on the barrel and cylinder, and thinning of the case hardening on the frame. Minor surface marks are present on the brass trigger guard and grip strap. The burled wooden grips retain a well-preserved patina. No significant damage or deep pitting observed.
