Description
A single dark-stained hardwood chair, displaying a style influenced by Rococo and Chippendale designs. It features an elaborate carved backrest with a prominent shell motif on the crest rail, above an open, serpentine splat with C-scrolls. The chair is supported by cabriole legs, terminating in carved scroll feet, and a carved shell detail adorns the front apron. The seat is upholstered in a textured fabric with a repeating paisley or damask-like pattern in earthy tones. No discernible manufacturer’s marks or inscriptions are visible.
Condition report:
Generally good condition. Minor surface wear consistent with use. A small chip is present on the crest rail. The upholstery appears intact but shows light soiling.
