Trisons Japan Military-Style Flip-Top Lighter with US Navy Chief Petty Officer Insignia
Description
A Trisons Japan silver-tone metal flip-top fluid lighter, characteristic of a military-style design. The front features an applied bi-metal emblem composed of a silver-tone eagle with outstretched wings perched above a striped shield, flanked by two gold-tone crossed anchors, strongly resembling a US Navy Chief Petty Officer insignia. The lighter is visibly stamped ‘TRISONS’ and ‘JAPAN’ on the bottom. While sharing characteristics with popular Zippo-style military lighters, this example is clearly marked by the Trisons company.
Condition report:
The lighter exhibits moderate wear, including numerous surface scratches, scuffs, and minor discoloration consistent with use and age, particularly around the edges and hinge mechanism. The applied bi-metal emblem shows some minor tarnishing and wear to the gold-tone finish. Functionality is untested.
