A Box of 25 Vintage Egyptian Greener Martini Mk III Police Shotgun Shells, 'New Model' Mark 1, Dated 1964
Description
A box of 25 vintage Egyptian Greener Martini Mk III Police Shotgun Shells, ‘New Model’ Mark 1. The original cardboard box, dated 22 June 1964, is labeled in Arabic with ‘خرطوشة’ (Cartridge/Ammunition), ‘جرينر طراز جديد’ (Greener New Model/New Style), and ‘مارك ١’ (Mark 1), alongside the number ‘٢٥’ (25) and ‘رقم الموط ٤’ (Lot Number 4). The box features a green and white target graphic. Inside, twenty-five brass shotgun shells are present. Each shell features a star-crimped top with reddish material and appears unfired. These cartridges were specifically designed for use with Greener’s Police Gun Mark III, a Martini action shotgun used by British Colonial Police forces, particularly in Egypt, during the early 1900s. Such full boxes of Greener 12/14 gauge shells are considered rare and collectible.
Condition report:
The cardboard box exhibits discoloration, creasing, and minor tears consistent with age and handling. The internal brass shells show varying degrees of tarnish and patina. All shells appear unfired and are in generally good, aged condition.
