Description
A Marlin Model 1892 Safety Lever Action Rifle, constructed from dark stained wood for the stock and fore-end, and steel for the barrel and receiver. The barrel is marked “MARLIN FIRE ARMS CO. NEW HAVEN CT. U.S.A.” and includes patent dates “NOV. 19. 1878. APRIL 2. 1889. AUG 12. 1890. MARCH 1. 1892.” The top of the receiver bears the “MARLIN SAFETY” marking. A serial number “107636” is present on the lower tang. This vintage rifle dates to the late 19th to early 20th century.
Condition report:
Worn, aged condition. Significant surface oxidation and dark patina are present across the metal components. Visible wear, scratches, and dents are evident on both the metal and wooden components. Functionality not tested.
