A Group of Vintage Western Super X 225 Winchester Centerfire Rifle Cartridges, 80 Rounds
Description
A group of vintage Western Super X 225 Winchester centerfire rifle cartridges. This lot comprises 80 rounds, presented in four vintage cardboard boxes, each originally containing 20 rounds. One box is opened to display twenty individual cartridges. The packaging design suggests a mid-20th century period. All boxes are marked “Western® SUPER X®”, “20 CENTER FIRE RIFLE CARTRIDGES”, and include the warning “WARNING: Keep out of Reach of Children” in English. The box ends further specify “2251”, “225 WINCHESTER”, “55 GR.”, and “POINTED SOFT PT.” or “PTD. SOFT POINT”. One box features a handwritten price of “$12.70”, while another has “2251” and “6.20” marked on it. The cartridges themselves are brass-cased with copper-colored projectiles, and their headstamps read “W-W SUPER 225 WIN”.
Condition report:
The cardboard boxes show visible signs of age, including discoloration, scuffs, and wear, consistent with storage. The exposed cartridges appear to be in clean and well-preserved condition.
