Description
A Remington Model 12 pump-action .22 caliber rimfire rifle, featuring an octagonal steel barrel, tube magazine, and wooden stock with a ribbed fore-end. The barrel is marked “REMINGTON ARMS-UNION METALLIC CARTRIDGE CO. REMINGTON WORKS, ILION, N.Y. U.S.A.” and indicates compatibility with “22 SHORT, LONG OR LONG RIFLE” ammunition. It also lists “PEDERSEN’S PATENTS” dated from January 5, 1909, to November 21, 1911. A serial number “144047” along with “RW” is present on the receiver. The “REMINGTON UMC TRADE MARK” logo appears on both the top tang and the metal butt plate.
Condition report:
The rifle exhibits significant signs of age and use. Metal components show substantial loss of original bluing, now presenting a dark gray patina with scattered surface wear and minor pitting. The wooden elements have numerous scratches, dents, and a worn finish.
