Description
A Colt 2nd Generation Model 1851 Navy Black Powder Revolver, presented with its accompanying box marked “COLT BLACKPOWDER”. This percussion revolver features a blued steel barrel and cylinder, a case-hardened frame and hammer, silver-plated brass trigger guard and backstrap, and smooth wooden grips. Visible markings include “ADDRESS SAML COLT NEW-YORK CITY” on the barrel, “COLT’S PATENT” on the frame, and on the cylinder, “COLT’S PATENT NO. 612” with “ENGRAVED BY W.L. ORMSBY NEW-YORK” and a detailed naval engagement scene. A stylized Colt logo is present on the backstrap, and “413” is marked on the butt of the grip frame.
Condition report:
Overall very good condition. The cylinder shows numerous surface scratches. The silver plating exhibits minor wear and tarnishing, particularly around the edges.
