Vintage Weatherby .378 Weatherby Magnum "Elephant" Ammunition Box with 20 Live Reloaded Rounds
Description
This item comprises a vintage cardboard box containing 20 loaded rifle ammunition cartridges for the .378 Weatherby Magnum. The box, in a mid-20th century style, features an illustration of an elephant head and prominent “Weatherby” branding, advertising “ULTRA-VELOCITY AMMUNITION” and “Builders of America’s Finest Rifles.” The box also displays the manufacturer’s original South Gate, California address and a “MADE IN SWEDEN” marking. A handwritten sticker on the reverse details reloading specifications including “SPEER BULLETS,” “POWDER: 4831,” “PRIMER: Fed 215,” and a date of “6/24/71,” confirming the contents are reloaded cartridges despite one side panel stating “UNPRIMED” brass. The brass-cased cartridges are visibly loaded, with their bases marked “WEATHERBY MAGNUM .378.”
Condition report:
The cardboard box shows significant wear, creasing, and discoloration consistent with age and handling. The ammunition cartridges appear to be in fair to good condition with minor brass tarnish.
