Description
A Remington Speedmaster Model 241 semi-automatic rifle, chambered for .22 Long Rifle ammunition. Constructed with blued steel components and a dark-stained hardwood stock and fore-end. The barrel is marked “REMINGTON ARMS CO., INC., ILION, N.Y., MADE IN U.S.A. BROWNING” along with patent numbers “1,372,336 – 1,381,448 ALSO PAT. NO. 1,740,167 – 1,889,099” and “22 LONG RIFLE ONLY – SMOKELESS-GREASED”. The left side of the receiver bears the markings “THE SPEEDMASTER REG. U.S. PAT. OFF. MODEL 241” and “Remington REG. U.S. PAT. OFF. 56968”. The serial number “56968” is present on both the receiver and the underside of the barrel. The buttplate features a textured design with “Remington” in raised text. Featuring a 23 1/2″ barrel.
Condition report:
The overall condition shows significant wear, scratches, and dents to the wood stock and fore-end, including noticeable finish loss. There is a repair or filler present in the buttstock. The metal parts exhibit bluing loss, surface abrasions, and some areas of minor surface rust, particularly on the trigger guard and rear sight assembly.
