Description
A Browning Auto-5 ‘Light Twelve’ semi-automatic 12 gauge shotgun. It features a blued metal finish with intricate scroll engraving on the receiver and a golden trigger. The firearm is fitted with a polished wooden stock and forend, both exhibiting checkered grip panels. Visible markings on the receiver identify it as “BROWNING AUTO-5” and “Light Twelve,” noting “SPECIAL STEEL 12 GA. SHELLS 2 3/4” and “BROWNING PATENTS.” The shotgun is fitted with a 23 1/2″ barrel. An additional separate 27 1/2″ ventilated rib barrel is included. Both the attached and the spare barrel are marked “SPECIAL STEEL – 12 GA – SHELLS 2 3/4,” “MADE IN BELGIUM,” and include Belgian proof marks such as “12-70” (12 gauge, 70mm / 2 3/4 inch chamber), along with “BROWNING ARMS COMPANY ST. LOUIS MO.” or “MORGAN, UTAH & MONTREAL P.Q.” distributor markings. The buttplate is embossed with “AUTOMATIC F N BROWNING.”
Condition report:
Overall good condition. The blued finish shows minor scuffs, scratches, and wear consistent with age and use. The wooden stock and forend exhibit similar minor surface wear. Mechanical function not tested.
