Description
A vintage Winchester Model 1897 pump-action shotgun, serial number 449318, identified by barrel markings. This turn-of-the-century firearm is constructed of blued steel for the barrel and receiver, featuring a wooden buttstock and a grooved wooden pump-action fore-end. The barrel measures 30″ and is marked “FULL” choke and “12 GA.” Additional markings include “TRADE MARK REG. IN U.S. PAT. OFF.” and patent dates ranging from December 1892 to October 1900. The firearm appears to have been reblued. The black buttplate exhibits wear and features a faint, indiscernible logo.
