Description
This lot features a blued steel double-action revolver, identified by barrel markings including “POLICE .38 SPECIAL,” “POSITIVE .38 SPECIAL,” and “COLT’S PT.F.A.MFG.CO. HARTFORD.CT.U.S.A.” The barrel also displays patent dates: “AUG 5.1884,” “JUNE 5.1900,” and “JULY 4.1905.” The revolver is fitted with black checkered grips, which have “COLT” molded into their top and are secured by a central screw. The left frame bears the Colt’s “Rampant Colt” pony logo. A serial number, “36 728,” is stamped on the frame beneath the cylinder. The six-shot cylinder opens to the side. Accompanying the revolver is a light brown leather holster, appearing to be made of rough-out leather or suede.
Condition report:
The revolver exhibits extensive wear to its blued finish, including surface scratches, thinning, and a general patina consistent with age and use. The accompanying holster shows significant wear, discoloration, and material distress, with large areas of darker staining and surface degradation.
