Description
An antique Colt House Model Open Top Spur Trigger Revolver, likely dating from the mid-to-late 19th century. This compact firearm is chambered in .22 caliber, as indicated by the “22 CAL” stamp on the frame. It features a brass frame, a blued or darkened steel barrel and a 7-shot cylinder. The dark wooden two-piece grip panels are secured by a single screw on each side. Markings on the barrel read “COLT’S PT.F.A. MFG. CO. / HARTFORD, CT. U.S.A.”, and a serial or inventory number “45376” is prominently stamped on the brass butt strap.
Condition report:
Fair to good antique condition. The steel components exhibit significant wear and loss of original finish, having developed a dark patina. The brass frame shows expected age-related patina and minor surface wear. The wooden grips have various nicks, scratches, and a glossy, worn finish. The front sight appears discolored or possibly a replacement.
