Description

A vintage box containing 50 rounds of .32 Cal. Colt’s New Police Central-Fire Cartridges, manufactured by The Union Metallic Cartridge Co. of Bridgeport, Conn., U.S.A. The rectangular cardboard box features red paper labels with black text and graphics. Visible text indicates “13 GRS POWDER” and “100 GRS BULLET”. Further text notes the cartridges are “Adapted to Colt’s New Police Double Action Revolver stamped on barrel “Colt New Police .32″ also to Smith & Wesson’s [partially obscured]d Ejector Revolvers. Not adapted to revolvers stamped on [partially obscured]t. A. .32,” and “ns de Lubricated”, suggesting lubricated cartridges. The box is likely from the late 19th or early 20th century. The metallic cartridges inside consist of brass casings and lead bullets.

Condition report:

The cardboard box is in poor condition, exhibiting extensive discoloration, heavy soiling, tears, and significant missing sections of its original red paper labels. The metallic cartridges show tarnish and some areas of verdigris.
