Lot 1583:
Description
A vintage Federal Hi-Power 12 Gauge Shot Shells Box, copyrighted 1927. The cardboard box, originally designed to hold 25 rounds, features an early 20th-century advertising aesthetic. A central illustration of a mallard duck in flight is set against a blue-green field, bordered in black and beige, and accented with yellow and red text. Prominently displayed are “HI-POWER,” “SHOT SHELLS,” and “FEDERAL CARTRIDGE CORP. MINNEAPOLIS, U.S.A.” The reverse details “CAUTION – READ BEFORE USING.” The box visibly contains five red-bodied shotgun shells with brass bases, marked “FEDERAL,” “HI-POWER,” and “12 GA.”
Condition report:
The box is in fair to poor condition with significant wear, creasing, tears, fading, and discoloration. The five contained shells appear in better, aged condition, showing minor signs of wear consistent with age.
