Description

A modern production Uberti Model 1866 Sporting Rifle, often referred to as a ‘Yellow Boy’ due to its distinctive brass receiver. This lever-action repeating rifle features a blued octagonal barrel and tubular magazine, a polished brass receiver, and dark-stained, figured wood for the buttstock and forearm, finished with a brass buttplate. The barrel is marked “CIMARRON’S REPEATING ARMS. FREDERICKSBURG. TEXAS. U.S.A. -KING’S IMPROVEMENT PATENTED MARCH 29.1866. OCTOBER 16.1860-” and “45 COLT” indicating caliber. The underside of the receiver is marked “A. UBERTI MADE IN ITALY” and bears the serial number “79097.” The rifle is presented in its original cardboard box from “Aldo Uberti & C.” (Gardone V. Brescia, Italy), which explicitly identifies it as a “MOD. W.1866 SPORTING RIFLE” in “.45LC” caliber and matches the serial number. Accompanying the rifle are various informational papers.
Barrel length: 24.1/4″

Condition report:

Excellent condition, showing very limited signs of use or wear. The blued finishes are deep and consistent, and the brass receiver retains its polished appearance with only minor handling marks. The wood stock and forearm are free from significant scratches or dents. Mechanically sound. Presented in its original manufacturer\'s packaging.
