Description

A cased United States Historical Society Buffalo Bill Centennial Presentation Commemorative 1860 Army Revolver set. This percussion revolver features a dark blued finish with extensive gold plating and intricate engraving. The barrel is marked “WILLIAM F. CODY” and “BLACK POWDER ONLY,” along with a “COLT” logo and the number “17244” on the underside. The cylinder and frame display detailed engraved scenes depicting Western themes, including buffalo, cowboys, stagecoaches, and towns. The grip panels are cream-colored imitation ivory. The set includes a group of accessories: a brass-toned bullet mold, an embossed brass-toned powder flask, a silver-toned cap tin, and a nipple wrench. These components are housed within a dark wood case, which has a green felt-lined interior. The lid interior features a gold-foil stamped design reading “Buffalo Bill” and “COMMEMORATIVE .44 CALIBER ARMY COLT,” surrounded by Western imagery. An internal brass plaque confirms “BUFFALO BILL CENTENNIAL PRESENTATION AUTHORIZED BY UNITED STATES HISTORICAL SOCIETY.”
