Description
A pump-action rifle, identified as a Marlin N° 27-S, manufactured by Marlin Firearms Co. of New Haven, CT, U.S.A. The rifle features a 24″ octagonal “SPECIAL SMOKELESS STEEL” barrel, chambered for .25-20 M caliber. Visible patent dates on the barrel include AUG. 12, 1890; MAR. 1,’92; JUNE 8, ’97; and NOV. 29, 1904. The firearm is equipped with a blued metal finish, a ribbed wooden pump forend, and a wooden buttstock with a metal buttplate. A noticeable crack is present on the buttstock, and there is chipping at the toe.

The firearm exhibits significant age and use. The blued metal finish shows extensive loss, surface wear, and light pitting on various metal components.
