Description
A Winchester Model 70 bolt-action sporting rifle, chambered in .264 WIN. MAGNUM, featuring a 26″ barrel and identified as Pre-64 Production. The rifle displays barrel markings including “WINCHESTER – MODEL 70-264 WIN. MAGNUM”, “MADE IN U.S.A.”, and “WINCHESTER PROOF STEEL”. The receiver is marked with the serial number “539759”, “WINCHESTER”, and “TRADE MARK”. The safety selector is marked “FIRE”. It features a blued steel barrel and receiver, a polished metal bolt, and a walnut stock with checkered fore-end and pistol grip. The rifle is equipped with hooded front and adjustable rear sights. A brown Pachmayr “White Line” rubber buttplate, marked “PACHMAYR LOS ANGELES CALIF U.S.A.”, is present, with one retaining screw missing. A brown leather sling is attached.
Condition report:
Good used condition. Cosmetic wear is consistent with age and use, including visible scratches and minor scuffs on the wooden stock. There is some light finish wear on the blued metal components. One retaining screw is missing from the Pachmayr buttplate.
