Description
A Winchester Model 1890 .22 Short Pump Action Rifle, primarily constructed of blued steel and a varnished wood stock and ribbed fore-end. The barrel is marked “MANUFACTUREED BY THE WINCHESTER REPEATING ARMS CO. NEW HAVEN, CONN. U. S. A. PAT. JUNE 26. 88. DEC. 6. 92.” and “22 SHORT”. The receiver is marked “MODEL. 1890”, “WINCHESTER” (with “TRADE MARK”), and bears the serial number “245199”. The rifle is presented with a tan fabric gun case featuring brown trim and black web handles.
Condition report:
The metal components exhibit considerable bluing loss, widespread patina, surface wear, and some minor corrosion, consistent with age. The wood stock and fore-end show numerous handling marks, scratches, and finish wear but appear structurally sound.
