Description

A late 19th-century American Colt House Model revolver, also known as the Cloverleaf model, chambered in .41 caliber. This five-shot pocket revolver features a distinctive two-tone finish, with a silver-colored barrel and cylinder contrasting with a gold-colored frame. The entire piece is extensively adorned with ornate scrollwork and foliate engravings, indicative of factory embellishment. Visible markings include “COLT’S PT. F.A. MFG. CO. HARTFORD CT. U.S.A.” accompanied by a crossed-flags emblem on the barrel, “PAT SEP 19 1871” on the frame, “41 CAL” near the trigger guard, and the serial number “7706” prominently displayed on the brass grip strap. The revolver is fitted with dark wooden grips.

Condition report:

Good antique condition, consistent with age and use. The gold-colored frame shows expected wear, tarnishing, and some finish loss. The silver-colored barrel and cylinder retain more of their original finish but exhibit minor surface wear. All engravings remain distinct and legible. The dark wooden grips show minor handling marks but are intact. Mechanical function has not been tested.
