A Marlin Model 1893 lever-action repeating rifle, manufactured by Marlin Fire-Arms Co., New Haven, CT, U.S.A. The rifle features an octagonal “Special Smokeless Steel” barrel, chambered in .32-40 caliber, and is equipped with a tubular magazine. Prominent markings on the barrel and receiver include patent dates of October 11, 1887, April 2, 1889, and August 1, 1893, along with “MARLIN SAFETY” marked on the receiver. The serial number “219896” is visible on the underside of the receiver, and “76” is marked on the buttstock tang. The rifle is constructed from steel and hardwood.


Condition report:

Fair condition. Metal components exhibit significant wear, a darkened patina, and scattered surface rust. The wood stock and fore-end show numerous dents, scratches, and finish loss, including a visible crack/gouging on the left side of the buttstock.
