Description
A Winchester Model 94 Golden Spike Commemorative 30-30 Win lever-action rifle. The rifle features a blued steel 20″ barrel, gold-plated receiver and barrel bands, and a figured wooden stock and forend. The barrel is marked “WINCHESTER® MODEL 94 30-30 WIN. MADE IN NEW HAVEN, CONN. U.S.A. WINCHESTER PROOF STEEL”. The receiver displays the dates “1869” and “1969” flanking a stylized railroad spike, and the top tang reads “OCEANS UNITED BY RAIL”. A brass-tone medallion inset into the buttstock commemorates “THE PACIFIC RAILWAY IS COMPLETED MAY 10, 1869 PROMONTORY SUMMIT, UTAH”, with additional text identifying “UNION PACIFIC RAILROAD LIMITED” and “CENTRAL PACIFIC RAILROAD”. The serial number “8339303” is located on the underside of the receiver.
Condition report:
